HEATHER'S CALLING
My name is Heather, and I experienced a Soul's Calling to guide you on this journey.
Seven years ago I heard an inner voice declare: "People have forgotten how to learn through art." I took this declaration as a soul's calling or "vocation" and embarked on a path of inner guidance and synchronicity. Applying an art history degree and 3 decades of experience as a professional artist and spiritual seeker, I researched how art is a forgotten path of teaching, getting a doctoral degree in psychology with a focus on art and creativity as a transformational practice based on the creative opus of the psychologist C G Jung, The Red Book. A year after my dissertation, I was diagnosed with cancer, leading me down the same path with an emphasis on healing, realizing the truth of Jung's statement that this is a healing and teaching path. I now stand before you humbled by visions of angels and a deeper understanding of the transformative power of art and the soul. It has been an "invaluable method" as Jung spoke of it. I believe it will be for you too. It is a soul and Self-guided path to wholeness.

With different path options from a weekend to a year, all paths lead to the center and your Self.
What is Soul?
Soul is your essence or life force, your guiding insight and intuition. An inner guide or teacher, soul is personal and relational. It is not religious or exclusive but natural and archetypal (universal). Your psyche is the root of your psychology and a part of you. Soul means "psyche," symbolized by a butterfly whose nature is to transform.
What is Art?
This is not art behind glass on a wall but art as self-expression, self-creation, and self-recreation (fun). It is a way to Self-reflect and communicate with your soul and the unconscious through symbolic imagery. Art is creative play and deep therapy which heals and teaches us individually and collectively. It is soul time.
A Deeply SOULFUL PATH
This is depth psychology rooted in a psychology of soul.
Hosted on an award winning learning platform in an online community called Soul Space, the Soul of Creativity combines modern technology with ancient wisdom in a psychology of soul. Depth psychology is named after the fathomless depths of the soul, and psychology means "soul study." While this is a "school" of the soul, as Jung spoke of his creative opus the Red Book, it is unlike like any school you've ever been to. Come explore your soul's nature through art and creativity in an online learning community built around soul. Create your own opus or great work of art as you follow in the footsteps of Jung, along with those he followed and led on an archetypal "path" of transformation. While Jung referred to this creative work as play and nature, his soul called it art. It is a path of playful transformation that connects our creative nature to nature (creation).

Creative JOURNEY
This is an embodied path on which we heal through art.
Navigating through intuition, imagination, and synchronicity the Soul of Creativity travels the path from head to heart in your life, body, and a body of art. On this journey you embody Jung's belief that "In everyone some kind of artist is hiding" and his concern that "the repressed artist must be fetched again from the dark unconscious" and "a path cleared for the urge for artistic expression" in order to heal. The Soul of Creativity helps clear and create this healing path to show you the power of art and that YOU ARE AN ARTIST. While each path is different (journaling, painting, writing, carving, dancing, cooking, collaging, singing . . . ), all paths lead to a deeper sense of meaning, power, and purpose by connecting you with your soul. This is deep healing rooted in the soul as the wounded healer who "builds up the body, sustains it's life, heals its ills" (Jung).

DARK NIGHT of the Soul
This path leads through the dark night of the soul and these times.
Crossing upon artistic steppingstones, this path navigates the darkness of our shadowed past (memories and relationships) and modern times (caronavirus, cancer, politics . . . ) to create a brighter future. It reaches the wounded places that studies show are beyond talk therapy and can only by accessed through creative imagery. As we move inward into our homes, our bodies, and our hearts, the Soul of Creativity offers a way to reconnect with ourselves, others, and the natural world. With partner and live groupwork along with time in nature, the courses are designed to help you through the separation and isolation of our time. Healing you inside and out, this journey offers a way through the darkness, following your soul's north star and heart's compass. As you walk the path, you are initiated by the wisdom of dreams and inner guidance into a deeper and richer appreciation of life to emerge from the darkness into a new dawn. In a fundamental way, this is a rite of passage that offers safe passage into a new power and purpose.

Do you feel a Calling to this journey?
My guide on this journey was not only my soul but Jung who was guided by his soul through art. Studying those who walked before, Jung guided his advanced patients, following an archetypal pathway to map an inner journey of individual and collective transformation or individuation. On this path, the soul's cartographic (map-making) knowledge guides us through art as we travel, teaching us to navigate by symbolic sight and insight in our lives as we remember how to learn through art. This is YOUR path: a soul path that, while archetypal or universal, is deeply personal. Do you feel called to heal and explore deeper parts of yourself and your life? Do you want to uncover your purpose and passion to transform and grow? Go within, drop into your heart to find the answer.

Do you feel a Calling to this journey?
This is basecamp (not boot camp) for the soul, offering guided first steps on a transformative trail for life. It is a chance to grow in community, to heal yourself, others, and the world. It is a path of paradox, on which you are led into the past to remember the future, kneeling down to rise to greater heights. On this journey you go within to enter the world, entering the unconscious to become conscious. You move into the darkness to meet the dawn, individuating more fully into yourself to unite more wholly with others, answering a call that is both selfless and Selfish. It is serious work, and play that cannot be taken too seriously. At its root, this path gets at what is deeply meaningful in our lives. For when you find your buried treasure (the gift of your soul), you give it to the world. To receive the gift, you have to give it away.

Spanning all cultures and ages, the path of creativity is like a treasure map, guiding you on a heroic journey to uncover the gold of your life's potential and offer it to the world. Like any hero or heroine, you have to not only hear but heed the call to return home to your soul--even if the way is dark or there are dragons (probably not real dragons). Like embarking on any journey or starting any piece of art, the first step, word, or brushstroke is often the hardest. Yet this first step initiates your journey. What are you called to do in the depth of your being? What is your personal myth or soul story? Are you ready to give your gift for the world--to take that first step?
