This journey transforms you from one state to another like the soul's symbol, the butterfly..
On the alchemical (transformational) path of the Soul of Creativity, we transform the lead of our false self into the gold of our authentic Self through the soul. When we are authentic or natural, the soul enlivens us, connecting us to our life and all life. By creating art unconsciously we are given a vision of our soul, allowing us to to remember forgotten parts of ourselves and lives, moving us beyond limitation to transformation. Following the archetypal path of a heroic journey, we uncover and integrate repressed or buried treasure from the past to build a better future. This is a soul retrieval and mythic journey, patterned after the story of the soul or Psyche who overcomes insurmountable challenges for love. Embodied in the image of Psyche as the butterfly, the soul initiates our transformation from one stage to another as we unfold our wings to fly. Like the butterfly effect, each person's creative expression and contribution has the power to change the world.

MYTHIC STEPPING STONES
Each life path is unique but a mythic perspective helps you understand your experience.
Our stories are the blueprints for our lives. The stages of the creative journey vary in each person's story, but they can be understood as a mythic map of transformation when seen from an archetypal perspective. Reflected in legends throughout the ages, the heroic myth or rite of passage is universally consistent, marking the stages of separation, transformation, and integration in which you are called on a journey, leaving your home to face unknown challenges and come back transformed to give a gift to the world. This coursework is designed around this core structure to help you move or initiate from one phase of life or state of consciousness to another. While some stages are initiated by the seasons of life, like puberty, childbirth, or middle age, some are brought on by life events, like a divorce, disease, or a virus. They can also be initiated by dreams, visions, or a calling to contribute your unique gift to the world. No matter the cause, these transitions call for guidance that is lacking in modern society with our disconnect from soul. These moments of pause are natural times to start our journey.

The Soul guides through imagery in art. This includes symbolic words that come alive as images (like poetry) and what studies call the "picture superiority effect," where we understand, integrate, and retain information better when it is presented visually. So, we learn through images in the "lessons" in our art, body, nature, and the world.

Reach out to your soul.
Your soul is your primary guide, and your first step in answering your soul's call is to invoke their guidance. To be found, we try to find our soul. Jung begins his Black Books this way, reaching out to his soul for guidance. On its most fundamental level, this path is a path that leads you to soul to be lead by soul. Do you feel, like Jung, that you have lost your soul? Have you lost your way? The good news is that our soul hasn't lost us . . . and this path is archetypal. This is a well warn trail on which all of the elements have been around for hundreds if not thousands of years, having stood the test of time. Take a deep breath and relax. You are in good hands (your soul's). You were made for this. All of the activities are natural. We just have to be natural to have them come back to us--like our soul.

A JOURNEY OF THE HEART
This is a journey of the heart as much as art.
This is an embodied creative path that reminds you to drop into your heart, to breathe, and live deeply. Though this is a personal journey, it is ultimately inter and transpersonal. It is about relationships and love: union and connection. Like any heroic quest, you are not alone on your journey, just as you are not alone in your life. Like any relationship, you will have challenges, and often the journey begins with a crisis or calling. So, the first steps on this path prepare you with a soul toolkit, map, compass, and orientation. Imagine this as setting off on an adventure that requires some packing and training. Each day, week and course is designed to lead you on your soul's path. Step by step you will be introduced to meaningful concepts and techniques to be able to surrender ever more deeply and trust that your soul has got you. This is a journey into the heart. Your soul plays with what it loves--you. You are falling in love with your soul. This is the union or alchemical coniunctio at the heart of transformation, you uniting with your soul.

SUPPORT FOR THE JOURNEY
The first step of this journey is to create a safe container and transformative toolkit.
Filled with helpful (and essential) habits and skills, this journey begins by grounding you with practical steps. From dreamwork to self care (not a mani pedi) and active imagination techniques, think of this as hydration for the imagination. In these first steps you establish soul habits for your mind, body and spirit that will carry your through the travels and travails ahead. While this path is natural and archetypal, it is a forgotten path in the modern era. So, I have broken it down into stages to make it simple and safe. Like any hiking backpack that holds everything your need to sustain you in the wilds, these courses are designed to have everything you might need. They are the training that prepares you for the deep dive into the wilderness as what Jung called an "advanced" patient. Because this is psycho-active (soul activating and awakening) deep healing, it is essential that you learn to navigate on your own with some training before you go off and follow your soul over harder, unexplored terrain. Even if you are a life-long Jungian, analyst, therapist or wise elder, the simplified yet intensive teaching in these steps will help provide a container for rich growth.

The Soul of Creativity works because it is created by your soul to reflect your psychology and give you the guidance that you need. Walked by people throughout time, this path is both collective and individual, reflecting the nature of the soul and unconscious. It is built within all of us but manifests differently for each of us, mirroring and meeting you with the images and insight that you need when you need it. While there are many unique features, the key to the Soul of Creativity is the soul whose transcendent vision and function connects and guides us. The soul's deep creativity lies dormant within us and these courses activate this ancient wisdom in a system of embodied teaching and technology to create a path that is uniquely and yet universally powerful and accessible.

Jung called this an invaluable method, and it is. Combining individual parts, like yoga, visualization, mindfulness, and meditation that are powerful on their own, it offers an approach that has been refined through the ages to maximize transformational growth. While journaling has been found to release stress and lead to transformative insight, and nature and art change your brain state and lead to positive outcomes from disease to depression, together they create momentous shifts. This is not new. It is ancient. It is not Jungian, it is everyone's. This path takes the most powerful practices and uses them to alchemize crisis into opportunity. Like a wounded healer who heals themselves to heal the world, the Soul of Creativity takes the energy of creativity and uses it as medicine for the world soul.

HOW IS THIS NATURAL?
This path is as much Ecological as psychological.
This is as much about ecology as psychology, about the world as ourselves. Simply put, this is a natural path because the soul is a part of nature. The soul heals through art because it integrates our creative nature in nature as creation. It teaches us to root deep and remember that not only we but the earth are ensouled. The soul is all life, and this path connects us to life in a fundamentally new and yet ancient way. It is art and nature therapy (taught by the soul) that heals us and heals the world. Beyond becoming natural (healthy), in walking this path you remember how to commune and communicate with the natural world. In a fundamental way, this is the biggest shift that the Soul of Creativity offers. The emergence of Jung's Red Book and the art-based transformation it embodies can be seen as called forth by the ecological and psychological need of our time. Yet, this transformation has to be lived.

We need to connect to and follow our soul because they are the only one who really knows where they are going. As Jung said in the Black Books: "but since I know that you, my soul, always know better, I follow you." From Leonardo da Vinci to Einstein, Jung to Picasso, new ideas emerge through the soul who guides us. This is a path that can give you what you need--whatever that is, when you need it. This doesn't mean what you want. For, it turns out, this journey is not about you or even your transformation, though that is an important part of the path. It is about the soul and the world's transformation that you serve--your gift. The paradox is that when we serve others, we serve ourselves--and this is the golden insight and rule. We not only transform the world by transforming ourselves, we transform ourselves by transforming the world. The gift of this path is that it is mutually beneficial. By connecting to your soul, you learn to Co-Create with Creation.
